Today, we have come to discover that rendang is not only cooked using chicken and beef. Rendang is made with various varieties of fresh ingredients such as mutton, venison, rabbit meat and even seafood. These days it is common to see dishes such as squid rendang, crab rendang, Prawn Rendang, clam rendang being served. Whichever variety that’s served, it is sure to be a hit with Malaysians. Yes, rendang may be a Malay traditional dish, but today it is loved by all Malaysians because it is so lip-smackingly delicious. Today let's talk about Prawn Rendang. What is so unique about this Prawn Rendang that it has become a favourite of many? We often find it is offered as an add-on to your nasi lemak. Other times, you might find Prawn Rendang served at your friend’s Hari Raya open house, as an accompaniment to nasi impit and lemang. Ah…doesn’t the thought make your mouth water? Why not try making Prawn Rendang yourself at home today? Here are the ingredients we need.Firstly you need large prawns. Then, prepare spices and herbs such as turmeric powder, red onion, garlic, galangal, lemongrass, hard fruit, kaffir lime leaves, coconut milk, gula melaka, turmeric leaves and kerisik (grated, toasted and ground coconut).
