Let’s take a closer look into making this captivating dish with MAGGI® Recipes! Firstly, start by heating up cooking oil in a pan. Then, add in the blended onion and garlic. Stir-fry the mixture until it is fragrant. Add in the MAGGI® Sambal Tumis Paste along with two stalks of crushed lemongrass and continue to fry them until well combined. The MAGGI® Sambal Tumis Paste is the key ingredient to making a perfectly cooked Sambal Squid dish. Oh! It also simplifies the cooking process of making this popular dish! Don’t forget to add in the squid with a tablespoon of tamarind paste and two tablespoons of sugar. Mix these ingredients together. Add in the yellow onion and mix until the onion is caramelised. If your sambal is too dry, don’t be afraid to add in a little water and mix thoroughly. Leave the Sambal Squid to cook until the oil rises or also known as pecah minyak. Voila!
