Nasi Kerabu is a popular dish in the east coast states of Kelantan and Terengganu. Known for its vivid blue rice, this traditional Malaysian dish is normally served with a choice of proteins such as dried fish, fried chicken, grilled meat that is paired with salted egg, crackers, ulam raja, and a variety of other fresh herbs. In order to achieve a bowl of vibrant blue-coloured rice, petals from the butterfly pea flower (bunga telang) are used as part of the ingredients. However, this unique dish has different versions that vary according to their colour; yellow rice, white rice, and black rice. Undeniably, Nasi Kerabu Ayam Percik is one of the many favourites during the holy month of Ramadan. This dish is served with a variety of fresh Ulam that is high in fibre content and helps with digestion, especially during the fasting month. It is also an ideal dish to serve during Aidilfitri as some guests may prefer having rice dishes during celebrations. On the East coast, Nasi Kerabu is a must-have dish that is served to guests during Aidilfitri. In conjunction with Raya, MAGGI® presents Nasi Kerabu Ayam Percik.
