Pesto sauce originates from the Liguria region in northern Italy. This sauce is a combination of the region’s best food ingredients — basil, pine nuts, olive oil, Parmigiano Reggiano cheese, and Fiore Sardo cheese made from sheep’s milk. Liguria’s mineral-rich seaside soil and temperate climate provides the perfect conditions for basil to grow and flourish, which is why the pesto sauce became northern Italy’s favourite sauce! A good pesto paste is rich and earthy in flavours — no ingredient should be too overpowering or too muted as each element retains its distinctive taste. With the rise of clean eating practices and vegan diets, pesto pasta became a popular meal choice for health aficionados. Learn how to make this basil pesto pasta dish to get your protein, fibres and vitamin fix! Firstly, marinate the chicken with a teaspoon of MAGGI® CukupRasa™ and set it aside for 30 minutes. Next, blend or pound ingredients such as garlic, basil and cashew nuts until it becomes a smooth paste.
