Favoured by Malaysians, the Mamak fried chicken is a nostalgic and mouth-watering dish. Famous as street food or a staple in Mamak stalls, this dish is made by marinating the chicken in aromatic spices and herbs, then deep-fried till it's crispy and crunchy. This dish is often accompanied by rice and a selection of side dishes and sauces. Try out this classic dish at your home with MAGGI recipes.

To create the perfect Mamak fried chicken, you must marinate the chicken pieces in a mixture of spices and herbs, including chicken curry powder, garam masala, ginger, onion, garlic, curry leaves and dried chilli. Remember to include one egg yolk to ease the mixing process. Add in MAGGI CukupRasa and red colouring to highlight the fried chicken's flavour and classic red colour. The mixture can also include corn and rice flour to ensure your chicken comes out crispier and less greasy! While you wait for the chicken to marinate, start preheating the deep fryer or oil for frying the chicken. Once you've fried the chicken, serve it with some rice.

You can also pair your Mamak fried chicken with spicy chilli sauce to increase the heat or some refreshing vegetable salad to cool down. Whether you're cooking for your family, kids or friends, this recipe is the perfect option to attract everyone to the dining table.
