Derived from the Land of the Hornbills, ayam pansuh, also known as manok pansuh, is a traditional Sarawakian dish loved by South East Asians. This unique and aromatic dish is prepared by marinating the chicken with various natural herbs and spices before cooking it in a hollowed-out bamboo stalk. Infused with a subtle woody flavour from the bamboo stalk, the marinade also helps to complement the taste by adding richness and depth to the dish. Try out this wonderful ayam pansuh recipe without having to fly to Sarawak with MAGGI recipes. To make ayam pansuh in the authentic Sarawakian way, the chicken pieces should be marinated with herbs such as ginger, garlic, lemongrass and more before stuffing the pieces and spices into a clean bamboo stalk. With our ayam pansuh recipe, the chicken pieces are also marinated with MAGGI CukupRasa, giving you that extra oomph of flavour! Once the bamboo is covered with cassava leaves, roast it for about 30 minutes before extracting the soup and chicken pieces onto a serving bowl. Try out our ayam pansuh recipe to have a brilliant option for your family gatherings! Bamboo Sarawakian Ayam Pansuh is usually served with steamed rice and veggies on the side, a favourite for special occasions and festivities. Impress your family and guests with the taste of Sarawak’s culture through this dish at your home.
